BERRIDALE Public School students Evelyn Wall, year 4, and Isla Woodhouse, year 2, represented the school at the District Swimming Carnival in Cooma on Wednesday, 19 February. Both students excelled in their chosen disciplines and will now go on to represent the school and the Snowy Mountains District PSSA at the South Coast Region Carnival on 10 March. Evelyn will be competing in butterfly and breaststroke categories and said she is excited to attend and represent her school. “I am sure it will be hard, and I don’t quite know what to expect, but I will do my very best,” Evelyn said. Isla said she was getting tired and a bit wobbly during her swims last Wednesday but managed to finish the day with great results. “I did get nervous during my race and wanted to give up, but I kept on swimming my hardest and am now excited to go to the South Coast for Regionals,” Isla said. On Thursday, 20 February, relieving principal, Janene Petersen, called Evelyn and Isla to the front of assembly and praised the girls on their tremendous effort and they recieved a round of applause from students and staff.
