Snowy Mountains Trout Festival came to an end last Thursday with participants bringing in their last catch before presentations on Friday. All participants and supporters gathered at the Adaminaby town centre anticipating their names to be drawn from the lucky draw prize. While many people registered for the fishing competition, some were lucky enough to win multiple prizes for their catches over the last six days.
David Tinworth took out the prizes for the overall largest trout at 2208 grams and the largest brown trout caught by trolling.
Steve Jankoski was another winner, taking home multiple trophies for largest rainbow trout caught by spinning and the largest brown trout caught by spinning. Fabrizio Fiorese took home the winning prize for the largest brown trout caught by fly fishing but was speechless when his name was called from the lucky draw prize for second prize, a fishing kayak worth over $3,000.
