The Snowy River Bears added another win to their list on the weekend, playing the Candelo/Bemboka United side at home.
It was a cold Winters day at John Connors Oval, and with raining sprinkling all morning leading into the game the footing was soft and slippery. Craig “Dicko” Dickson from the Bears was the first to put points down for the game, the kick was missed.
Jesse Jackson was over the line next; another missed conversion and the score was 8-0. Candelo/Bemboka began to get some momentum going and were over for a try, but their kicker also missed the conversion.
The final minutes of the first half and the weather decided to turn it on with spitting rain adding to the chill factor, however Bears Captain/coach Adam Walters ran to get a try just as the hooter went.
The try was successfully converted by Declan Gregory and the score was 14-4 at half time.
Second half began and the Bears weren’t showing any sign of slowing down against the combined coast side.
