A visit to the region by the Australian Track Cycling Team, a visit from a newly minted World Champion club member, and an announcement of an exciting race series highlighted the week for Jindabyne Cycling Club.
The Australian Cycling Track Team comprising Kaarle McCulloch, James Brister,
Thomas Clarke, Thomas Cornish, and Matthew Richardson have been based at Perisher over Easter, hiking, mountain biking and road riding to get some altitude training in.
Their distinctive jerseys have been sighted on the Thredbo Valley Track and around Charlottes Pass and Mt Kosciuszko.
Club president Gary Pearson said the region had been a mecca for all kinds of cyclists over Easter.
“We are seeing clubs and riders on training camps for road riding, mountain bikers from far and wide and lots of families,” he said.
“The club is supporting moves to put a stamp on the Snowy Mountains as a great cycling destination and is happy to see all the visiting riders enjoying our great roads and trails.”
