It has taken a while, but Monaro horse riders are pleased to finalise a new home ground for their riding group.
After about a year of negotiations, the Monaro Equestrian Association (MEA) and Snowy Monaro Regional Council have signed a contract giving the MEA a home ground at Berridale.
Secretary, Sue Wallace said she is very happy with the new home ground for the MEA at the old Berridale Pony Club grounds.
“It is located between O’Brien Ave and Myack Creek,” Mrs Wallace said.
“About a year ago the MEA committee inspected the grounds and were excited about this becoming the club’s new home.”
“Being the old pony club site it comes ready with a fenced sand dressage arena, 12 pipe stalls, small club house/kiosk, a sewered toilet, and town water,” she said.
Mrs Wallace said the paddock area is quite flat and is suitable for some show jumping, working equitation, games and clinics.
