Crawford wins 2019 Cooma Golf Club Championship

Sunday turned on a perfect day for the final round of the Cooma Men’s Club Championships.  Congratulations to all the winners with David Crawford the 2019 men’s Champion with a score of 291 gross.  Steve Young won the A Grade Scratch with 314 gross with Sam Patrick’s winning the A grade nett with 294.

The B Grade Champion is Hunter Caldwell with 356 gross and the B Grade nett winner is Wayne Flynn with 305.  The C Grade Scratch was won by Frank McKnight with 397 gross and Craig Wheatley took out the C Grade nett with 313.

Last Saturday some of the ladies travelled to Delegate to play in the annual Ladies Open Tournament.  The event was well supported with many coming from Far South Coast and Tablelands district and the ACT.  Congratulations to Cooma’s Helen Crawford who was the overall scratch winner with a fantastic score an 81 gross. 

 Yvonne Barnes also had a successful tournament, winning the Handicap Prize for Division three with a wonderful 64 nett.  Yvonne also won the Veteran’s Trophy.  Gaye Wilson won a ball with 72 nett.  Then, to cap off the day, Helen, Yvonne and Gaye won the team’s event with a combined 207 nett.

Last Wednesday an 18 hole Stableford was played in tough conditions as it had turned cold again.  The winner was Carolyn O’Byrne with 26 points on a countback from Jenny O’Byrne.  Swinging the club with so many layers proving tricky!
