Cooma Under 15s grand final fight

On Sunday the Cooma Mainstreet Under 15s Red Devils took on the Tuggeranong Vikings in the grand final at Vikings Park.

They were joined by a strong contingent of supporters, made up of family and friends of not only the Under 15s boys, but also the Under 11s and Under 14s girls teams.

The first half started with both teams clearly in grand final mode, looking to move forward with intensity.

It was Cooma who drew first blood, with Coen Stanford bustling over for the first try. Charlie Pendergast converted the try, and Cooma was up 7-0.

The Vikings pushed hard through the rest of the first half, running in two tries, and at the half time break, our local boys were behind 12-7.

Both teams, having drawn some breath in the half time break, continued the intense rugby display from the restart. Each side forwards demonstrated their hunger to retain the ball and run fiercely at each other’s defence, whilst both back lines were not shy in running the ball wide and taking on their opposition.
